Dragon Tide: A Fire in the East
Next Dragon Tide instalment is now live! So far we've gone through: Dragon Tide: The Rising (the prelude, 1,500 words)
Dragon Tide: A Storm's Roar (6,500 words) Dragon Tide: A New Day's Hope (7,500 words) Dragon Tide: An Open Road (8,000 words)
Dragon Tide: A Fire in the East (10,000 words) And next month's release: Dragon Tide: A Death at Sea (10,500 words) Dragon Tide is a tale set in a drowning world where things are falling apart. For our initial run through Dragon Tide I'll put ten instalments out. In this tale, we're following a family struggling to stay together in a world where the seas are ever-rising and sparking fire is hard and has been ever since the dragons were destroyed. Banditry is increasing, and so is talk of war. Storms blow off the Young Sea every winter to blast Ruck and Lucia's farm, and the tempests grow ever stronger. Life is tough but fulfilling for the family until their two eldest children, Spader and Kalia, are taken into slavery to work the bone mines. In a world without fire spirits, the easiest way to start a flame, whether for light, cooking, metalworking, or anything else, is to use the bones of long-dead dragons.
In this world, dragon bones are worth more than any dragon treasure.
